EmberQuest Warrior guide: the frontline tank
EmberQuest's Warrior class: armor rating, crowd control, base stats and when to pick the tank over the three other classes.
The Warrior is EmberQuest’s frontline tank: the class with a real armor rating and a crowd-control kit. If you want to be the person the boss is looking at while everyone else does the work, this is your class.
What does the Warrior do well?
Two things, and only two things matter: survivability and control. The Warrior has the highest base HP (14.1) and the only meaningful base armor rating (0.8) among the four classes, plus a 6.1% resist chance against impairing effects like slow, poison, hook, and push. In a game where knockbacks and hooks are a real threat — including in PvP — that resist profile is quietly one of the strongest stats on the class.
The control side is why groups want one: crowd control is the Warrior’s stated specialty, which in practice means managing pulls and protecting squishier players rather than topping damage charts.
What are the Warrior’s base stats?
From the official wiki’s live display (checked October 11, 2026, before gear; values change with balance patches):
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| HP | 14.1 |
| Armor | 0.8 |
| Resist (slow/poison/hook/push) | 6.1% |
| Heal bonus | 8.2% |
| Pierce | 5.7% |
| Crit chance | 7.0% |
| Crit damage | 54.1% |
| Backstab | 4.1% |
| Combat speed | 8.2% |
| Dash profile | 1.65× speed, 1× stamina |
The funny detail: the Warrior’s crit damage (54.1%) is the second-highest in the game — higher than the Archer and Ranger. Base crit chance is still the modest part; think of the Warrior as someone who blocks, controls, and then occasionally hits very hard, not a raw DPS pick.
How mobile is the Warrior?
The dash profile is the standard 1.65× speed at 1× stamina cost — no mobility bonus, no penalty. You move like a normal character and rely on armor rather than footwork. The 8.2% combat speed bonus is the highest of the four classes and quietly helps in fights where repositioning one step decides whether a swing lands.
When should you pick Warrior?
- You play in a group and want the anchor role.
- You want the class that survives your own learning curve — 14.1 HP forgives the most mistakes.
- You intend to fight in PvP zones, where the armor and resist profile shine.
- You like the “hold the line while the plan happens” fantasy.
Avoid it if you exclusively solo and want kills at range: the Warrior’s damage comes from being in the scary place, and the Archer or Assassin will clear solo content faster with escape tools the Warrior simply does not have.
What should a Warrior train first?
Weapon choice is open (see the crafting overview for what tier 1–3 gear costs), but pairing the tank’s durability with a melee skill keeps you in your natural range. Frontline picks: Melee as your combat skill, Mining and Chopping as your money skills since both feed metal-and-wood armor crafting — the exact armor type the Warrior wants to wear anyway. Full skill breakdown: skills overview.
How does the Warrior compare to the others?
Against the Ranger (the other durable pick), the Warrior trades flexibility for a bigger armor stat and control kit. Against the Archer and Assassin: completely different games — they avoid damage, you stand in it. The side-by-side table lives in which class to pick.
